This is a really cute dressy dress to have on hand. I love the color purple, so it is fun to have a dress in this color that is still understated. The dress has an overlay of same colored mesh that has the velvety floral pattern on it. The core of the dress is lined, but the sleeves have no lining, so they have an open look to them, which I find really nice looking. The dress fit as expected when you use the size chart online...which showed I should get a size larger than I normally do, so please DO look at the sizing before ordering. This is a dress that you could wear any time of the year, other than hot summer, probably, but only because of the long sleeves. It is fairly lightweight, and you could easily add something over the arms if you needed additional warmth. The dress is a good value for the price point, and I am happy with the quality and how it looks on.

Well, I didn't really think this was sure to fit, since I wear regular large, not plus large. (I did not size up as the listing recommended.) But it looks great on! Wasn't too big anywhere and has a flattering drape over the stomach. Hits about mid-calf. The color is slightly darker than my photo (my camera kept adjusting the color).The only note is that the corners of the square neckline exposed a bit of bra, a problem that can be solved with a different bra or with fabric tape.It's warm to wear, since it's polyester, but that's true of most fancy dresses. Material is a bit thinner than I expected, but that's fine.The sleeves were long for me, but I normally wear petite length, so that's to be expected. The elastic keeps them from sliding over my hand.The dress is a "wow," and that's coming from someone who puts back almost everything I try on. No clue why the bad reviews. It's really nice.It does have an off odor. Faint, but there. It needs to be washed or aired out before wear.

It is made in two layers, a soft stretchy underlayer with an outer layer of mesh covered in a figured black velvet floral design. The raised design really is velvet, not just a print, which was what I had expected. This dress is comfortable and flattering. I usually wear a size medium (8-10), so I wasn’t sure if this plus-size dress would work for me, but I ordered the large (based on the size guidance on the website), and it’s good fit for my 37-31-39 figure. There’s a little extra room in the bust and in the hip, but not so much that the dress looks loose on me.I love the burgundy color of the dress. The square neckline is not so low that it shows my bra straps at the sides (though not every bra will work with this dress), and the neckline is perfect to show off your favorite necklace. The waistline is a little above my natural waist—almost, but not quite an empire waist. The A-line skirt is full enough to provide an attractive flare, but not so full as to make you feel like you’re in a period costume. I suppose it’s a somewhat formal style, but the stretchy fabric makes the dress very comfortable to wear. I feel like myself in this dress. It looks good with my dressy sandals, but I think it will work with boots in winter. I added a belt because I prefer dresses that way (a black velvet ribbon would work well as a “belt” for this dress), but it looks fine without the belt, too.My only criticism is that the dress had an odor when I took it out of the bag (maybe from the dyeing process of the fabric). I spritzed it with Febreze and hung it on the back porch (in the shade) to air, and the odor has almost gone. Got this for short, busty, pregnant woman. It looks good, makes her feel less like a balloon. She is short and top heavy and this still fits and flows nice. Even with the temporary beach ball there is still enough length and adjustability to stay modest and comfortable. Material not itchy or coming apart after several wash cycles. Lace is a nice touch.
